Our industry is often known for its traditional way of doing things rather than innovating new building methods. Since experience and time contribute to improving a craft, this approach has its merits. We also believe that combining the best of traditional building practices with emerging processes will optimize our efforts and produce a better-built structure for today’s homebuyer.
The value of this approach was never more evident than when we, along with 800 volunteers in Tyler, Texas, built a 2,249 square foot house to code, in less than three hours on October 1, 2005. Dubbed the 2 Hour House, the imaginative approach we took to achieve this goal is still positively impacting the industry today.

This feat, not only broke world records, it allowed us, along with the Tyler Area Builders Association to introduce innovative methods that:
