Steve Conaway

Chief Executive Officer

As the founder of the Company, Steve serves as CEO and is a lifelong builder and 3rd generation builder and developer. Steve has extensive experience in commercial and institutional construction as well as custom homes. Steve has served the industry as President of the Tyler Area Builders Association, President of the Texas Association of Builders and served on the National Associations of Builders' Committee. Steve has also received Local and State awards such as Texas Builder Of the Year for 1994 and Tyler Area Builder of the Year for 1995 and been a speaker at national land development seminars. His dedication to the idea of home ownership for all who desire it sets the direction for the Company. Steve serves as our director for the management team and mentor to all.

Brent Conaway

Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Graduate Master Builder Brent is our Vice President of Sales & Marketing and is also responsible for New Home Development and Systems Development. He has worked with Conaway Homes since 1993, and is responsible for the home plans we use today. Brent has won numerous awards for product design, logo design and artwork. Brent’s home plans provide maximum value and livability for our customers through efficient, yet dramatic design. He constantly strives to make our homes better for our Customers.

Brian Conaway

President

Brian, a Graduate Master Builder, is President for Conaway Homes.  He is active on the Local, State, and National levels of the Home Builders Association.  The local association, (Tyler Area Builders Association), has approximately 700+ members and Conaway has served on various committees since joining the TABA.  He served as President in 2005 and received the 2004 Builder of the Year award.  He is recognized as a Life Spike through the National Association and has earned more than 250 spike credits for new members. On the State Association level, he serves on the Board of Directors, as well as the Government Relation Committee.  He is a National Director on the National Association level. Brian also is a director for the Better Business Bureau.   He organized and chaired the committee that set a new World Record for home construction by building a 2249 sq. ft. home from the ground up in 2 hours 52 minutes 29 seconds.  This project, completed on October 1, 2005, is known as the "2 Hour House".  It took 2 years to coordinate and included the participation of over 2000 volunteers. Proceeds benefited 6 local charities.

Chief Financial Officer

Lashley serves as Chief Financial Officer for our company. Lashley is responsible for our financial reports, cash management, payment systems and general office administration. Lashley graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Accounting, and has worked in accounting since 1983. After working in financial services for an oil and gas exploration company, Lashley joined Conaway Homes in 1997. Lashley provides internal and external financial reporting in support of all departments.

Lisa Martin

Purchasing Agent

Lisa serves as Purchasing Agent but does so much more. Her duties include coordination of material delivery on all sites in support of the production department. Lisa ensures that Customer selections are properly ordered, delivered on time, and are of high quality. Her experience in office administration and her professionalism ensure that our office runs smoothly. Lisa has assisted in the growth of Conaway Homes since 1994.

With over 25 years of home-building and construction experience, Darrell has been a part of our team since 1993. Darrell serves as Development Coordinator and assists Steve in Development activities. Darrell performs due diligence work on our new developments and processes all planning and zoning requirements.

Kevin Hester

Division Director

Kevin Hester joined our team in 2001. Kevin currently serves as the Division Director for the Tyler Division. As a former Store Manager for a major lumber and building supply retailer, Kevin not only knows the construction business, he also has a keen sense of customer service. His leadership skills and methodical approach to the building process assure each of our customers of a high quality home. Kevin's organizational skills are a terrific asset to our company and we are delighted to have him as part of our team.

Vice President of Operations

A 1996 graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler with several years of home-building experience, Chris joined our team in 2001. Chris serves as our Vice President of Operations and is an outstanding leader.  Chris is responsible for implementing and monitoring the companies systems to guarantee they are dynamic and effective.  He strives for continuous improvement. Chris works with each of our Community Directors, Builders, New Homes Specialist, and Suppliers to secure the companies goals. Chris’ contributions help to guarantee that our homes are of lasting value to our customers.

Design Coordinator

Gerald Hightower joined our team as Design Coordinator in 2002. Gerald brings more than 15 years experience in drafting and design for both residential and commercial projects. Gerald's background includes experience in space utilization, functionality and practicality. His skills include translating design ideas and concepts into livable and workable spaces. This means that our Customers will have homes that not only meet their needs, but are fun to live in as well. Gerald's responsibilities include pre-construction plan preparation, design and drawing of new plans and products and critique of our existing home designs. We are delighted to have Gerald as part of our team.

As an experienced sales professional, Betty joined Conaway Homes in 1998. Betty is our New Homes Specialist for neighborhoods in the South Tyler area. Her energy and commitment have resulted in First Home Ownership for many of our Customers. Betty’s dedication to Customer satisfaction is only one of the many contributions she makes to our team.

Receptionist, Rental Property Manager and Office Clerk

Jennifer is our Receptionist, Rental Property Manager and Office Clerk Extraordinaire! She joined our staff in 2001 and manages to assist each department when and where needed. Her numerous skills are appreciated and her pleasant, infectious attitude is a pleasure! We are delighted to have Jennifer as a part of our team!

Ann Buttram

Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer

Ann Buttram joined our team in 2002. Ann graduated from Tyler Commercial College in 1975 and has worked in accounting for construction suppliers as well as in the oil and gas field for the last twelve years. Ann joined our team in June 2002 as Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer in addition to her duties as accounts payable clerk. Her many years experience in the accounting field ensure that our accounts are properly reconciled and that our suppliers and contractors are paid promptly and correctly. Anns' skills have made her a welcome addition to our office team.

Jimmy Martin

Division Director

With over 24 years in the construction supply and lumber business, Jimmy Martin joined our team in 2002. Jimmy currently serves as the Division Director for the Longview Division. With Jimmy’s experience as a Group Store Director over the operations of three very large lumber and supply stores, Jimmy knows the value of customer service. His organizational and leadership skills are very useful in directing construction activities on multiple sites. In fact, Jimmy was “multi-tasking” before the word was invented! Jimmy inspires his co-workers and contractors to achieve their best and we are glad to have him as part of our team.

Rex Buttram

Rex joined our team in 2005, and was soon promoted to Builder.  Rex is a 2003 Honor Graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Forensic Science.  Rex is also a licensed plumber who has worked in the construction field for many years.  Since joining our team, he has demonstrated his dedication by volunteering to help out wherever the need arises, even after normal work hours- be it a leaky faucet, or preparing a neighborhood for inclement weather.   Rex’s friendly approachable manner and attentiveness to detail on our home sites is sincerely appreciated by customers and makes him a welcome and valuable addition to Conaway Homes’ production team.

Clare West joined our team in 2006 as a New Home Specialist for our homes in the Longview/Kilgore area.  Clare brings many years of experience in helping families choose the right home for their needs.  Clare has won multiple awards  for outstanding customer service and sales excellence.  Clare is a NAHB Certified New Home Specialist and her customers appreciate her dedication to quality as well as her terrific work ethic!

Ben Stovall

Ben Stovall joined the Conaway team in 2006 as Builder.  Ben is a 2000 Texas A & M Graduate with a degree in Business Management.   Since graduating, he earned his realtor license - successfully closing many home sales- which led to his interest and passion for home building.  Ben started his homebuilding experiences as a handyman doing small jobs and remodeling projects; he then progressed to a trim carpenter on custom homes and other exciting projects such as the HGTV Dream Home and the 2-Hour House.  Ben excels at teamwork and always tries to exceed customer expectations.  His hands-on experience has made him a welcome addition to our team.
